Programmable SoCs have MCUs, analog

The PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 programmable system-on-chip devices include 8-bit 8051 type or 32-bit Cortex-M3 MCU subsystems plus analog resources that can be configured as A/D or D/A converters, TIAs, mixers, PGAs, opamps, and more. Capabilities include motor control, power management, CapSense touch sensing, LCD display control, audio/voice processing, and communication processing.

The programmable platforms are set up using the PSoC Creator IDE, with a schematic-based capture and fully tested analog and digital peripherals. The devices support Full-Speed USB, I2 C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN, and I2S interfaces and operate at 0.5 to 5.5 V with active power consumption at 6 MHz of 1.2 mA for the PSoC 3 and 2 mA for the PSoC 5. (From $2 to more than $10 ea/high volumes — samples available now.)
