I/Q upconverters cover 17.7 to 27 GHz

Operating from 21 to 27 GHz and from 17.7 to 23.6 GHz, respectively, the HMC815LC5 and HMC819LC5 GaAs MMIC I/Q upconverters feature a driver amplifier preceded by an I/Q mixer, where the LO is driven by active x2 multiplier. This I/Q mixer topology is beneficial for microwave radio applications, since the unwanted sideband filtering is reduced.

The HMC815LC5 and HMC819LC5 provide small signal gain conversion of 12 to 15 dB with 20 and 35 dB of sideband rejection, respectively. These parts are much smaller alternatives to hybrid-style single-sideband upconverter assemblies, and exhibit excellent 2 LO to RF isolation of up to 12 dB, with output IP3 is as high as 35 dBm. Specified for operation from 40 to 85°C, the parts are housed in compact RoHS-compliant leadless 5×5 mm ceramic SMT packages. (HMC815LC5, $47.88 ea/10-99 — available now.)
