IDC system works with copper/aluminum wire

Using IDC (insulation displacement crimp) technology, the Mag-Mate system for fractional horsepower motor manufacturers features products qualifying for termination of both copper and aluminium magnet wires. The system offers two IDC slots on each beam that provide four gas-tight points of contact, which compensates for differences in copper/aluminum tensile strength and conducitivity.

The UL-recognized system simultaneously terminates two magnet wires of the same size in one terminal, from 34 to 12 AWG, and eliminates soldering or stripping. Slim-line and mini solutions are offered, with multiple lead wire attachment options, and versions that mate with RAST 2.5 IDC connectors. (Contact Tyco for pricing and availability.)
