Low-power MCU development kit features energy-monitoring system
The EFM32 Gecko Development Kit includes an advanced energy-monitoring system that uses a large LCD screen and preconfigured GUI to accurately view a prototype an application’s current consumption data in real time, enabling early identification and removal of adverse current drains. The kit has a motherboard, a plug-in MCU card (available either with or without a 160-segment LCD), and a large plug-in prototyping card for rapid application development.
Based on the efficient ARM Cortex M3 core, the target EFM32G MCU, running at 3 V, consumes less than 180 µA/MHz while executing code from flash. The kit features an on-board USB/J-Link emulator and a standard 20-pin debug connector. The kit’s GPIO interfaces include LEDs, DIP, and pushbutton switches, a mini joystick, and potentiometer. Analog options include a light sensor, a three-axis accelerometer, and audio line-in/line-out. Two RS-232 serial, I2 C, and an IR transceiver ports are also provided. (From $299 — available now.)
