16-bit SAR ADC achieves 94-dB SNR

The 16-bit LTC2393-16 SAR A/D converter achieves 94-dB SNR at sample rates up to 1 Msamples/s with no cycle latency. Operating from a single 5-V supply and supporting a wide ±4.096-V input range, the part is well suited for many general purpose designs that require maximum signal swings to overcome background noise levels in demanding industrial environments.

Additional features include 105-dB THD, ±2-LSB INL, and guaranteed 16-bit no missing codes. The ADC dissipates 140 mW at 1 Msample/s and features a shutdown mode that reduces power dissipation to 175 µW when not converting. Housed in a 48-pin LQFP and QFN package, the LTC2393-16 also offers an internal reference (10 ppm/°C) and a parallel and serial interface. (Ea/1,000: From $20.65 — available now.)
