GaN-based power-stage devices are industry’s first

The iP2010 and iP2011 are members of the first family of commercial integrated power-stage products using a GaN-based power device technology platform. The family of devices is designed for multiphase and POL applications including servers, routers, switches, and general-purpose POL dc/dc converters.

GaN-based power-stage devices are industry’s first

The iP2010 and iP2011 devices integrate the PowIRtune driver IC matched to a multiswitch monolithic GaN-based power device. These devices are mounted in a flip-chip package platform and deliver a switching frequency from 250 kHz to 3 MHz (the iP2010TRPBF) or 5 MHz (the iP2011TRPBF). The switching frequencies allow the use of smaller-sized output capacitors and inductors. The iP2010 features an input voltage range of 7 to 13.2 V and output voltage range of 0.6 to 5.5 V with an output current up to 30 A. The pin-compatible iP2011 features the same input and output voltage range but is optimized for an output current up to 20 A. They are available in an LGA package, feature dual-sided cooling, and are RoHS compliant. (Ea/2,500: iP2010TRPbF, $9; iP2011TRPbF, $6 samples available now.)
