Tiny PA targets 802.15.4/ZigBee apps

Measuring 2 x 2 x 0.37 mm, the µPG2251T6M GaAs PA eliminates the need for RF component matching — enabling product designs where PCB space is scarce such as smart phones, digital cameras, handheld gaming devices, and other consumer electronics that are used for Bluetooth, 802.15.4/ZigBee, and other 2.4-GHz applications.

At 2.45 GHz, and PIN = –5 dBm, the device offers a frequency range from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz and an output power of 25 dBm (VCONT = 1.8 V) and –45 dBm (VCONT = 0 V, shutdown). Power-added efficiency is 47% and second and third harmonics are –35 and –30 dBc, respectively. ($0.82 ea/100,000 — available now.)
