The SmartFusion family is said to be the world’s first intelligent mixed-signal FPGA ICs, featuring an FPGA fabric, a 100-MHz ARM Cortex-M3 processor, and programmable analog blocks. The A2F060, A2F200, and A2F500 devices have 60,000 to 500,000 gates, 350-MHz performance, up to 512 Kbytes of flash, 64 Kbytes of SRAM, and 204 I/Os.

The chips’ FlashLock technology provides a superior level of IP security. The two larger devices include a 10/100 Ethernet MAC. All versions have an external memory controller, an eight-channel DMA controller, up to three 12-bit A/D converters and three 12-bit sigma-delta D/A converters, and up to ten 50-ns comparators.
