Conversion MOSFETs enable 95% efficiency

The OptiMOS 200- and 250-V family of devices is suited for synchronous rectification in 48-V systems, dc/dc converters, UPSs, and inverters for dc motor drives. The devices enable 95% efficiency, which is 2% higher than typical and translates to 30% lower power losses.

The 200- and 250-V family of MOSFET devices features 50% lower RDS(on) than alternative devices. They also offer a gate charge (Qg) that is up to 35% less than alternative designs. Additionally, the device family enables reduced device paralleling. The MOSFETs use a 5 x 6 x 1-mm SuperSO8 package suitable for applications that previously used 9 x 10 x 4.5-mm D2 PAK devices.
