DSCs target digital power conversion

The dsPIC33FJxxGS406, GS606, GS608, and GS610 digital signal controllers target digital power-conversion applications and feature up to 40-MIPS operation at 3.0 to 3.6 V and –40° to 85°C. They have 32 to 64 Kbytes of flash and come in 9 x 9-mm TQFP64 and 80-pin TQFP packages.

The chips have a quadrature encoder interface, a CAN module, up to four fast analog comparators, up to 18 PWM generators with 1.04-ns resolution, and one or two 12-channel 10-bit A/D converters. They feature a C-compiler-optimized instruction set with 16-bit wide data and 24-bit instructions. (From $2.93 ea/10,000 — samples available now.)
