The RDK-BDC24 is a reference design for speed control of 12 and 24 V brushed dc motors at up to 40 A continuous. Features include a Stellaris LM3S2616 MCU and optimized motion control software that enables motors to run smoothly and quietly over a wide speed range, and high-performance CAN and RS-232 networking.
The kit has a Mabuchi RS-555PH-3255 brushed DC motor and be used to implement open-loop speed control or closed-loop control of speed, position, or motor current. It has a quadrature encoder input, and analog input, motor brake/coast selection, a wall power supply, and status LEDs for run, direction, and fault conditions. ($219 — available now.)
