3-MHz 2-A converters target portables

The TPS62065 and TPS62067 3-MHz synchronous dc/dc converters provide up to 95% power efficiency from a 2 x 2 x 0.75-mm SON package. The TPS6206x devices operate from a 2.7 to 6-V input voltage, allowing them to support lithium-based batteries with extended voltage ranges or a 3.3- or 5-V system supply rail.

The synchronous converters have a 3-MHz fixed-frequency operation, feature a power save mode with PWM to PFM transition, and have 18-µA quiescent current. They support point-of-load and processor-based applications, including systems based on TI’s TMS320C55x DSPs. ($1.40 ea/1,000 — available now.)
