LED control dev kit uses Piccolo MCU

The DC/DC LED Developer’s Kit focuses on using the TMS320C2000 Piccolo MCU to digitally control up to eight LED strings, including a digital power supply. The low-cost MCUs can add advanced features such as dimming, color tone adjustment, power line communication, and fault detection.

The kit enables engineers to jump-start design of energy-efficient LED electronics for backlighting, street lighting, and building automation. It has a digitally controlled buck/boost power conversion stage, a Piccolo F28035 controlCARD, eight 5-W LED strings, isolated XDS100 USB JTAG emulation, and controlSUITE software.
