The CPS-1848 and CPS-1616 Serial RapidIO Generation 2 (Gen2) switches support data rates up to 20 Gbits/s with power reduced by 40% and latency improved to 100 ns in cut-through mode. The CPS-1848 48-lane switch has 240 Gbits/s, and the CPS-1616 16-lane switch has 80 Gbits/s of nonblocking bandwidth.
The CPS-1848 comes in a 29 x 29-mm FCBGA package, while he 1616 comes in a 21 x 21 FCBGA package. Both take 300 mW per 10 Gbits/s data rate, support 40 multicast masks, and have programmable pre-emphasis and equalization. (CPS-1848, $99; CPS-1616, $49 ea/volume qty — available now.)
