5-V regulator enables USB OTG functions

The FAN4860 is a 5 V 300 mA TinyBoost regulator that offers power for USB On-the-Go (OTG) and HDMI communication circuits. It switches at 3 MHz, allowing the use of small capacitors and inductors.

The regulator is available in a WL-CSP (0.88 x 1.23-mm) and an MLP (2 x 2-mm) package. It offers 3.6 VIN and an 84% efficiency at 1-mA load and a 91% efficiency at 200-mA load. The load-disconnect between the battery and the load eliminates the leakage from the battery during the off state. ($0.48 ea/1,000 – available now.)
