Regulator operates from 3.6 to 36-V input

A 3-A dc/dc µModule regulator system features an onboard inductor, dc/dc converter, and supporting circuitry, the LTM8033 operates from a 3.6 to 36-V input voltage range and provides a regulated output voltage ranging from 0.8 to 24 V at up to 3 A. If more than 3 A is required, multiple devices can be paralleled for current sharing. The system includes an EMI filter, making it compliant with EN55022 Class B (see online report at www.linear.com/micromodule).

The dc/dc regulator targets low-noise operations such as medical equipment, avionics systems, communication wireless systems, and ultrasonic detectors. The device has a resistor-selectable switching frequency adjustable from 200 kHz to 2.4 MHz, enabling the designer to improve efficiency according to the VIN -to-VOUT ratio of the conversion.
