Low-profile open-frame dc/dc converters deliver 25 W from 1 in.2

The UEI25-120-D48 series of 25-W output isolated dc/dc converter features a 2:1 input range, and a 12-V output in 1 in.2 of board area. The converter offers regulated dc power for PCB mounting. The low-profile 0.96 x 1.1 x 0.32-in. device accepts a 36 to 75-Vdc input, suitable for telecom equipment.

The converter output can be trimmed up or down by 10% with an external trim resistor and offers efficiency of up to 87.5%. It includes magnetic isolation with basic insulation, up to 2,250 Vdc. For powering digital systems, the outputs offer fast settling to step transients and accept high capacitive loads. The self-protection features avoid converter and external circuit fails and include input under-voltage lockout and over-temperature shutdown. The output current limit uses the “hiccup” auto-restart technique and are short-circuit protected. ($16 ea/large qty — available now.)
