RF4CE wireless remote IC has CPU, transceiver
The MC13233C ZigBee RF4CE wireless remote control IC features an 8-bit HCS08 microcontroller, a fully compliant IEEE 802.15.4 transceiver, flash memory, RAM, and peripherals. The chip has 128 Kbytes of flash and 8 Kbytes of RAM and a USB 2.0 interface.
The MC1323x family allows customers to use IR functions and devices in addition to RF control and takes less than 1 µA in standby, 27 mA in transmit from a 1.8 to 3.6-V supply. ZigBee RF4CE technology provides radio-frequency communications up to 400 m max, or 50 m in a home setting. The IC comes in an LGA48 package. (Price not yet available — samples 1st qtr 2011.)
