The Model 878B and 879B handheld LCR meters have wider measurement ranges as well as higher accuracy and speed than previous versions. With 0.5% accuracy, the dual-display (40,000-and 10,000-count) meters have three modes with visible or audible alerts for batch sorting.

Both units can measure dissipation and quality factor, and transfer results to a PC using a built-in USB port and provided logging software. Users can also write custom SCPI programs and control meters remotely. The 879B has an ESR function to measure true capacitor quality and calculate Z and θ.
