Atom CPUs have memory, graphics controllers

The Atom E600 series of processor SOCs features four PCIe ports for an “open” interconnect, a graphics processor, a DDR2 memory controller, and video encode/decode coprocessing. Taking only 2.7 to 3.9 W (TDP), the SOCs are the first of the Atom series targeted at embedded systems and provide a 7-year availability.

The small 22 x 22-mm 676-ball FCBGA-packaged ICs are available for –40° to 85°C operation and have an optional multivendor I/O hub companion chip. The single-core processors are built with 45-nm lithography. ($19 to $85 ea/1,000 — available 4th qtr.)
