Low-power DSPs run at 150 MHz

The TMS320C5504/C5505 low-power DSPs run at up to 150 MHz, providing 25% higher performance than previous C55x devices. They are said to have the industry’s lowest total power at less than 9.0 mW at 60 MHz. Standby power is less than 0.15 mW.

The processors have 256 or 320 Kbytes of RAM, 128 Kbytes of zero wait-state ROM, an FFT hardware accelerator, and high-speed USB 2.0, I2S, UART, SPI, and MMC/SD I/O. The chips dynamic voltage and frequency scaling can maximize battery life. The C5505 adds an LCD display controller and 10-bit four-channel SAR A/D converter.
