32-bit MCUs feature 2.5-Mbyte RAM

The SH7268 and SH7269 32-bit microcontrollers feature a large 2.5-Mbyte SRAM that enables a smaller-size solution for digital car audio, consumer, and industrial applications that use a color TFT-LCD. The large memory allows display of WVGA resolution (800 x 480) images without external RAM.

The 266-MHz processors’ high performance enables additional system tasks plus digital audio signal processing, and the chips have a 2D graphics accelerator supporting the OpenVG 1.1. They also have a hardware JPEG codec for fast image data compression and a digital RGB output that supports 17 million colors at WVGA resolution. The ICs operate at –40° to 85°C or –20° to 85°C, have an optional CAN interface, and come in 208-pin QFP, 256-pin QFP, and 272-pin BGA packages.
