High-quality oscilloscopes cost less than $1,000
Improving on the industry’s most popular family of oscilloscopes, the TDS2000C Series offers improved performance, more versions, expanded automated measurements, and adds new features such as datalogging and limit testing. Further, the entry-level price for a 50-MHz two-channel model is just $990 — 25% less than the previous lowest priced model and lower than similar models from other major suppliers.
The series consists scopes with bandwidths of 50, 70, 100, or 200 MHz and all but the 50-MHz versions are available in two- and four-channel versions. Sample rates on all channels are 500 Msamples/s (50 MHz), 1 Gsample/s (70 MHz), and 2 Gsamples/s (100 and 200 MHz). Thus all models have digital real-time sampling with at least 10x oversampling on every channel; all units also have a 2.5-ksample record length.
Built into the simple user interface are features such as an auto-set menu, a built-in help system, a probe-check wizard, and instrument setup and operation optimization. Advanced triggering is coupled with advanced math capabilities and 16 automated measurements.
After a user configures trigger conditions, the new datalogging capability lets the scope save all triggered waveforms, together with time-stamp information, to a USB flash drive within a user-defined duration of up to 8 hours. The new limit-test function can be used to quickly identify problems and alert a production line operator when an input signal falls outside of a predefined mask. The Limited Tektronix Edition of National Instruments’ SignalExpress software and a lifetime warranty are included. (From $990 to $2,540 — available now.)
