Fast USB UART handles 12 Mbits/s

The XR21B1411 Full-Speed USB UART features +/-15 kV HBM ESD protection and, up to 12 Mbits/s serial data rate. The chip has optimized software drivers, including Microsoft WHQL certification, and support for very large FIFO sizes.

The device has an internal clock programmable to 6, 12, 24, or 48 MHz and need no external crystal. The IC comes in a 16-pin 3 x 3-mm QFN package and operates from 4.75 to 5.25 V over the industrial temperature range. Evaluation boards and reference designs are available. ($1.89 ea/1,000 samples available now.)
