The AS1310 hysteretic step-up dc/dc converter is optimized for light loads (60 mA) offers the industry’s highest efficiency, up to 92%, and at 1 µA, the lowest quiescent current. It operates from a 0.7 to 3.6-V battery supply and provides output voltages from 1.8 to 3.3 V. The converter features 85% efficiency at loads as light as 100 µA.

The boost dc/dc converter can generate either 3 or 1.8 V to support the new lower-voltage designs. If the input voltage exceeds the output voltage, the device goes into a feedthrough mode and the input is directly connected to the output voltage. It suits single- and dual-cell powered devices, including blood glucose meters, remote controls, hearing aids, wireless mouse, or any light-load application. The device draws less than 100 nA in shutdown mode. The device is available in a TDFN 8-pin 2 x 2-mm package and operates from –40° to 85°C. ($0.66 ea/1,000 — available now.)
