Digitally controlled 400-W supply meets medical specs

The digitally controlled EFE400M power supply series targets Medical and ITE applications. It features 4-kVac reinforced I/O isolation and an output-to-ground isolation of 1,500 Vac. The supply meets the interna-tional safety standards of IEC/UL 60601-1 for medical equipment. It provides 12-, 24-, or 48-Vdc regulated dc outputs, and delivers 400-W continuous power and up to 475-W peak for 10 s.

The power supply has a 3.5 x 6.5-in. footprint and less than a 1U profile. It features redundant operation capability, a standby voltage output and ITE safety certifications per IEC/UL 60950-1. It suits high-integrity, broadcast, instrumentation, routers, servers, security networks, ATE, and factory automation applications. The supply has an integrated magnetics transformer, has 90% efficiency, and employs an 8-bit microcontroller for digital control of the output and to handle housekeeping routines.
