FEMs address smartphones, tablets

Optimized for the rapidly growing smartphone and tablet markets, the RF5506 and RF5516 5-GHzWiFi front-end-modules (FEMs) integrate the PA, LNA, and SPDT switch in a 3 x 3 x 0.5-mm package. Specifications (802.11a/n) include an output power of 16 dBm, an EVM of 3%, and a gain of 27 dB.

Operating current is 145 mA and supply voltage (VCC ) is 3.3 V. In addition, LNA NF (noise-figure) with switch is 2.4 dB and LNA gain is 11 dB. The parts are provided in 16-pin QFN packages, (Contact company for pricing and availability,)
