Housed in a tiny 1 x 1.6-in. DIP module, Gabotronics’ Xprotolab mixed-signal oscilloscope and arbitrary waveform generator is said to be the smallest device of its kind, capable of being mounted directly on a breadboard or pc board for in situ testing and verification. Based on Atmel’s ATXMEGA32A4 microcontroller, with 32 Kbyte Flash, 4 Kbyte SRAM, 1 Kbyte EEPROM, the device can also be used as a development board.
The scope has a 0.96-in. 128 x 64-pixel OLED display; two 8-bit 320-kHz analog channels; eight digital channels; and external trigger capability. Numerous automatic measurement features and typical scope adjustments can be selected using four tactile switches. Max input voltage is ±10 V and max sampling rate is 2 Msamples/s. The 44-kHz AWG offers ±2-V sine, triangle, and square waves, with amplitude, frequency, offset and duty-cycle control. The instrument can be powered either via the micro-USB connector or with an external 5-V supply. (Contact Dan Evans for pricing and availability.)
