LNAs achieve low noise figures, high linearity
The MGA-64606/65606 LNAs target WiFi and WiMAX data cards, handsets and other portable devices, while the two-stage MGA-13116/13216 LNAs target GSM, CDMA and W-CDMA cellular infrastructure applications such as base station radio cards. The parts are based on the company’s proprietary 0.25 um GaAs Enhancement-mode pHEMT process which is offered to achieve low noise figures and high linearity.
The 1.5- to 3.0-GHz MGA-6460 and 2.5- to 4.0-GHz MGA-65606 LNA have switchable shutdown and bypass functionality that enables them to be bypassed during periods of high input signal power. These devices are housed in a 2.0 x 1.3-mm SMT package and offer a current consumption in bypass mode of less than 100 µA.
The 0.4- to 1.5-GHz MGA-13116 and 1.5- to 2.5-GHz MGA-13216 LNA enable usage of a single LNA, instead of the two components normally required. Housed in 4.0 x 4.0 x 0.85-mm 16-lead packages, the MGA-13116 exhibits 0.51-dB noise figure and 38-dB gain at 0.9 GHz, while the MGA-13216 exhibits 0.61 dB noise figure and 35.8 dB gain at 1.95 GHz. (ea/10,000, MGA-64606/65606, $0.73; MGA-13116/13216, $2.50 — available now.)
