Avnet Embedded Americas, part of Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc (NYSE: AVT), introduces Build OEM Better, an end-to-end product development program offering lower cost, pre-built storage and server solutions, service and support for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and independent software vendors (ISVs). Integrating off-the-shelf servers and storage products from Avnet Embedded suppliers HP, Dell, IBM, Rorke Data, an Avnet company, and others, Build OEM Better allows customers to choose from a wide range of lifecycle services to help lower manufacturing costs, shorten time-to-market and reduce the support burden. The Avnet Embedded Build OEM Better program offers OEMs and ISVs the advantage of a single supplier contact during the development lifecycle. Customer applications vary and include markets such as: healthcare, networking, gaming, entertainment and security. This program encompasses the following:
• Design and Consultation: Avnet’s technology experts work hands-on with customers to select best-fit components from Avnet’s extensive product portfolio of enterprise-class brands such as IBM, HP and Dell. Through the use of third-party hardware and branding, enterprise OEM platforms can be uniquely customized to fit any customer brand.
• Custom Branding: Utilizing the industry’s most reputable products, customers can add their own custom branding options that include blank or custom bezels, custom painted chassis, blank or branded packaging, and blank or branded product manuals.
• Integration and Configuration: Build OEM Better offers a unique combination of products from both branded and white box portfolios. Each of Avnet’s ISO 9001:2000 manufacturing sites offers seamless integration, with warranties and service contracts kept intact. Avnet’s manufacturing sites custom build and ship finished products directly to customers; or, Avnet can pre-manufacture and kit components for shipment to finishing sites – reducing costs and manufacturing time.
• Inventory Management: Avnet offers inventory management services to help lower costs and simplify our customer’s business. Services include access to spare part depots, seamless management of returns, parts forecasting, and end-of-life product management.
• On-going Support: Avnet’s OEM experts provide on-going service, support and program management to our customers around the globe.
