WiMax coexistence FEM eases mobile apps

Ideal for WiMAX radios in mobile handset or portable PC applications, the AFEM-S257 complete RF front-end module (FEM) is designed specifically for coexistence operation of WiMAX with other cellular and WiFi radios in the same device. The module features two receive ports and a single transmit port in a 5 x 7 x 1-mm 28-lead MCOB package that is ideal for space-constrained mobile applications in the 2.5 to 2.7 GHz frequency range.

Features include a noise rejection of 35 dBc (enabling fewer interference issues between IEEE 802.16 WiMAX and other radios), a WiMax-compliant output power of 24 dBm, and an EVM of 2.5% at 16 QAM. It also offers 18% PAE, 3- to 5-V power supply for the Tx path, a 34-dB Tx gain, and a 3.5 dB noise figure from ANT to Rx. It is based on 0.25-µm GaAs enhancement-mode pHEMT process and Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator (FBAR) filtering technologies. ($9.50 ea/10,000 — available now.)
