Optimizing power for mono wireless audio applications, such as microphones, subwoofers, musical instruments, and gaming microphones, the nRF2460 audio streamer IC delivers up to 100 hours of operation from two AAA batteries. The part provides crystal-clear uncompressed 16-bit PCM digital mono audio and features an integrated 4 Mbits/s, 2.4-GHz radio, adaptive frequency-hopping protocol, and a quality of service engine.
The IC offers an I2 C interface for audio support and SPI or two-wire interface to transfer bidirectional control data. It is housed in a 6 x 6-mm 36-pin QFN package, integrates voltage regulators, and requires only a few external components. ($1.50 ea/1,000 — contact company for availability.)
