The M95M02/M24M02 are said to be the first EEPROMs available with 2-Mbit density. They come with either a 5 MHz SPI or a 1-MHz I2C interface and come in small SO8N or WLCSP packages.
Both devices also offer an additional page, named the identification page (256 bytes), which can be written and, later, permanently locked in read-only mode. The SPI version can operate at as low as 1.8 V, and it has a standby mode drawing less than 5 µA. ($1.80 ea/1,000 — available now.)
