High-speed USB DAQs have low prices

With sampling rates up to 500 ksamples/s, the USB-1608G series 16-bit USB data acquisition devices are priced starting at under $400. Each device in the series offers 16 analog inputs, 8 digital I/O, 2 counter inputs, and 1 timer output.

Models are also available with up to two analog outputs, and with a lower, 250-ksample/s sampling rate. TracerDAQ software and support for Visual Studio, Visual Studio.NET, DASYLab, NI LabVIEW, and MATLAB are included with the DAQs, as is DAQFlex open-source software framework, which provides support for Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
