The ISL9110 1.2−A buck-boost regulator uses a proprietary H-Bridge Buck-Boost control architecture and features the industry’s lowest output voltage deviation during transitions between buck and boost modes. It suits battery-powered devices such as handheld instruments, games, and point-of-sale systems.
The buck-boost regulator provides a regulated output voltage from an input that can be either above or below the output voltage. It requires only a single inductor and two capacitors, features a 2.5−MHz switching frequency, and can deliver more than 2 A at 2-Vout or 1.2 A at 3.0-Vout from a single Li-Ion battery. External feedback resistors can set the output voltage on the adjustable version to deliver output voltages as low as 1 V. ($2.08 ea/1,000 available now.)
