Cortex M3-based MCUs are low power, scalable

The Leopard Gecko family of Cortex M3 based MCUs is composed of 60 versions with 32 Kbytes of RAM and 64, 128, or 256 Kbytes of flash. The devices come in five package types and feature a 400 nA back-up power mode, with the RTC and 512-byte backup register operating.

As a super-set example, the EFM32LG995F256 has 256 Kbytes of flash and 8 x 36 LCD controller/320 x 240-dot direct drive TFT controller, a USB 2.0 full-speed port, and three op amps. The chips display controllers operate without CPU intervention. Current consumption is only 160 µA/MHz and 400 nA in deep sleep with RTC running. A shut-off mode with GPIO wake-up takes only 20 nA.
