The ALD EH4200 series of micropower step-up low-voltage booster modules are the missing link in energy harvesting technology that, until now, has been untapable. These PCB modules are designed to boost the output voltage of thermoelectric generators, electro-magnetic coils, single photovoltaic cells, and infrared emitters whose output voltages are generally in the low mV-range and power outputs that range from µW to mW.
The booster modules use micropower MOSFET semiconductor devices and a self-starting transformer-oscillator stage to derive their operating power directly from one of the energy generators and create a voltage gain ranging from 75 to 150 times. The ALD EH4205 features a nominal input impedance of 50 Ω while the ALD EH4295 features an input impedance of 950 Ω. The booster modules can also be used, independently for trickle-charging batteries or super-caps. ($41 ea/small qty available now.)
