The dual-core Qorivva 32-bit MPC5676R MCU targets automotive applications — looking to play a role in greener, more-fuel-efficient vehicles. The 180-MHz Power Architecture MCU has 6 Mbytes of flash, 384 Kbytes of RAM, nonmaskable interrupts, and three enhanced timing processor units (eTPU).
The chip also features 64 + 64 DMA channels, a 64-channel 12-bit A/D converter, CAN and FlexRay ports, and hardware for knock-detection processing. It uses a single 5-V supply, operates at a junction temperature range of –40° to 150°C, and comes in a 416- or 516-ball PBGA package. (From $22 ea/1,000 — available January.)
