Priced under $500, the OM-DAQ-USB-2401 USB 2.0 data acquisition (daq) module accepts thermocouple and voltage inputs on its 8-differential/16-single-ended channels, sequentially reading inputs at rates to 1,000 rdg/s with 24-bit resolution. Users can program each channel independently for one of 10 voltage ranges — from ±30 mV to ±10 V or for type J, K, T, E, R, S, B, or N thermocouple inputs.
The module has four cold-junction-compensation temperature sensors built in, as well as open-thermocouple detection. The unit can be powered using either the USB port or an optional external dc supply. Windows software, drivers for custom programming, and hardware for wall or DIN-rail mounting are included. ($495 available now.)
