Charging control IC supports USB charging

The R2A20055NS charging control IC targets single-cell Li-ion batteries used in portable devices. It suits cell phones, digital still cameras, media players, personal navigation devices, and tablet PCs.

The charging control IC provides battery overvoltage protection, charging timers, and functions that implement the charging profiles stipulated by JEITA for safe charging control. The 2.0 × 2.5–mm 10–pin HUSON package provides control pins to limit the input current. Current limit options are 100 mA, 500 mA, or no limit. The input pins have a withstand voltage of 25 V and overvoltage protection for the input pins. (Samples $1.30 ea — available now.)
