Low-power op amps add precision, save space

The TSV85x and LMV82x op-amp ICs are claimed to combine the industry’s lowest input-offset voltage (0.8 mV max at 25C) with the smallest available footprint (the dual version comes in 2 x 2-mm DFN8 packages). The devices can operate at 200 mV below zero in common mode, which enhances design freedom and they can withstand up to 6 V in absolute maximum rating, increasing the margin on a typical 5-V power supply.

The op amps come in single, dual, and quad versions and offer a supply voltage range of 2.5 to 5.5 V. The TSV85x features a power consumption of 180 µA max at 5 V, a shutdown mode current of 50 nA max, and a gain bandwidth of 1.3 MHz. The LMV82x features a power consumption of 400 µA max at 5 V, a shutdown mode current of 50 nA max, and a gain bandwidth of 5.5 MHz. (Ea/1,000: TSV85x, from $0.33 to $0.57; LMV82x, from $0.39 to $0.86 — available now.)
