DAC achieves ±1-LSB INL and DNL

Offered as the industry's first high-performance dual, 18-bit, current-output D/A converter, the LTC2758 offers accurate 18-bit dc specifications, including ±1-LSB max INL and DNL over temperature. The DAC also offers fast settling of 2.1 µs and low 0.4 nV•s (3 V), 2 nV•s (5 V) glitch impulse, making it possible to produce higher-frequency, lower-noise output waveforms.

The SoftSpan feature can output six unique unipolar and bipolar output ranges up to ±10 V. The output voltage ranges include two unipolar ranges (0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V) and four bipolar ranges (±10, ±5, ±2.5, -2.5 to +7.5 V) that can be selected using software or pin-strapping.

The part also integrates precision resistors for each DAC for reference inversion, bipolar offset and gain and offset adjustment. It communicates via a three-wire bidirectional input/output SPI serial interface that enables readback of any internal register, as well as the DAC output span setting. Housed in a 7 x 7mm LQFP-48 package, the DAC features a supply current of 1 µA max. (From $27.91 ea/1,000 — available now)
