Liquid-cooled ATR crate takes 7 6U VPX boards

Designed for dense embedded systems with exceptional heat dissipation requirements, the ATRCTS07ASNXLTQE4 1-ATR enclosure has two side walls that are independently liquid-cooled to offer significantly better cooling than conduction-only and air-flow designs. The 10.625 x 10.12 x 12.52-in. chassis holds conduction cooled 6U VPX boards with a 1-in. pitch, per VITA 48.2 (REDI) and VITA 65 (OpenVPX).

The all-aluminum chassis is available with a 6U OpenVPX backplane, per VITA 65 Backplane Profile BKP6-CEN07-11.2.3-n, with seven 100-W-cooled slots; one for storage, one for switch, and five for payload. Other available backplanes include VME, VME64x, VXS, cPCI, or custom. The unit offers a choice of a fixed-mount 400- or 500-W 6U plug-in power supply, and is designed to meet shock and vibration standards per MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-901D, and MIL-STD-461F (CE102, CS101, CS116, RE102, RS103). It can operate at altitudes to 75,000 ft and temperatures from 55° to +70°C. (From $30,000 with backplane and power supply available 12 to 14 weeks ARO.)
