16-bit flash MCU claims lowest active power

The PIC24FJ64GA306 and PIC24FJ128GA306 16-bit microcontrollers need only 150 µa/MHz active current. They come with 64 and 128 Kbytes of flash, respectively and have six DMA channels and a low-power sleep mode with RAM retention down to 330 nA.

The chips have an LCD display driver that can handle up to 480 segments and a charge time measurement unit that can be used for mTouch capacitive sensing. They have a 12-bit A/D converter and five 16-bit timers and come in 64/80/100-pin packages. (From $1.99 ea/high volume available now.)
