Low-power 32-bit MCU targets automotive

The V850E2/Fx4-L 32-bit microcontroller series, with 19 versions, are intended for automotive comfort and body applications. They feature very low current consumption of less than 0.35 mA at 1 MHz in active mode and provide for hardware monitoring of digital inputs in deep-stop mode without any usage of the CPU or memory.

The processors run at 48 to 64 MHz with a performance of 1.81 DMIPS/MHz and flash memory of 256 Kbytes to 1.5 Mbytes. They come in packages with pin counts ranging from 64 to 176, and have peripheral for PWM generation, up to two CAN interfaces, and eight DMA channels. The chips have a 10-bit A/D converter, and –40° to 125°C operation is available. To comply with the AUTOSAR requirements a memory protection unit and a system register protection unit have been included. (Samples, $20 – samples available now, production 1st qtr 2013.)
