LED driver ref design delivers high effiencies

The DER-286 reference design describes a 30-W LED tube replacement ballast power supply capable of achieving efficiency levels of over 90% across a wide input-voltage range while meeting worldwide requirements for power factor (offering greater than 0.9) and total harmonic distortion (less than 15% at 115 Vac and less than 20% at 230 Vac). The reference design is based on the LNK419EG, a member of the companys LinkSwitch-PH family of ICs.

No high-voltage aluminum electrolytic capacitors are used in the primary side. LinkSwitch-PH devices combine a controller and 725 V MOSFET. (Contact company for pricing — available now)
