TDK product brief features EPCOS energy varistors for power distribution systems

Iselin, NJ, January 26, 2012 – TDK-EPC, a group company of the TDK Corporation, is offering a brochure about EPCOS E Series Energy Varistors that enhance reliability and longevity of arresters in power distribution systems.

These components are active elements in gapless surge arresters for overvoltage protection of medium and high voltage AC power utility distribution systems. They are ideal for porcelain housed arresters, polymer housed arresters with a hollow insulator and molded polymer arresters. A broad range of diameters supports different class requirements according to IEC and ANSI.

Features include:

• Glass passivated collar
• Flame-sprayed termination for pressure contact
• Disk diameter of 32 to 99 mm
• Disk height up to 44 mm
• Stackable for higher voltage ratings
• Arrester blocks for distribution class
• Arrester blocks for station class
