Intelligent servo motor features reduced size

The BG45SI high-power-density intelligent brushless dc servo motors, with integral four-quadrant speed controls, are reduced in size by 25% compared to previous models, while maintaining the same power and torque capabilities and motor efficiencies. The length of the BG45x15SI was reduced from 4.7 to 3.5 in., and the length of the more powerful BG45x30SI was reduced from 5.3 to 4.0 in.

The motors have a 1.73-in. height and width. They run from 12 or 24 V at a nominal speed of 3,000 rpm. The longer of the two units, the BG45x30SI, is continuous duty rated for 80-W (1/10-hp) power output. The motors can achieve peak powers of four times the continuous duty rating. and target speed can be set using a ±10-Vdc input or via digital inputs. (BG45x30SI, $399 — available now.)
