The IGD962 hybrid IC module drives n-channel IGBT modules, provides I/O isolation, drive voltage stability and fault protection required to control most MOS gated power devices. It converts TTL compatible input signals into an isolated +15-V/8-V gate drive with a peak drive current of 5 A. It targets 600-V IGBTs (up to 600 A), 1,200-V IGBTs (up to 400 A), and 1,700-V IGBTs (up to 200 A).
The IGBT driver has an internal optocoupler that provides 3,750–Vac control-signal isolation, with a CMR ratio of 30 kV/µs. A built-in desaturation detector provides short-circuit protection. A fault signal is provided if the detector is activated. The device uses a two-supply drive topology. It is packaged in a single-in-line package, has an operating temperature from –20° to 70°C, and suits high-frequency welding systems, solar converters, UPS, and automotive/appliance motor drive applications.
