SSDs enables boot in as little as 15 s

Featuring a 6-Gbit/s SATA revision 3.0 interface, the PM830 series of 2.5-in. solid-state disk drives have 64 to 512-Gbyte capacities. Suited for use in high-performance notebooks and tablets, the drives have up to 400 Mbytes/s sequential write speed and 36 K random write speed.

The drives are said to enable booting up your computer in as little as 15 s. They take only 0.127 W active power and just 0.078 W in idle, use Toggle DDR MLC NAND flash memory, and are specified for handling shock of 1,500 G at 0.5 ms. ($80 to $580 — available now.)
